Arrangements
As a long-time videogamer and amateur musician (piano, accordion and kora) it mustn't be a surprise that the interests crossed into videogame music. Here you can find some of my arrangements of videogame music, be it from games I played or not. Every song can be played by clicking on the corresponding image. To pause the song, click the logo on the top navbar. To resume, click it again.
Pro tip! You can surf the rest of the website and the music will stay there. To pause it, click the logo on the top.
And there is more. Videogame music may not be a familiar genre to the general public, as such, I gave to every piece reported here an additional parameter: the popularity. It is an obviously subjective parameter, which doesn't aim to be precise and whose value is determined by my feelings, but it allows me to quickly guide you into this musical field. In the end, I would like to emphasize that my perceived popularity and your musical taste may differ, as you would expect; therefore, I strongly invite you to check out every piece on this website: videogame music has a lot of hidden gems out there. Here follows the meaning of the popularity scores:
- Unknown to the players themselves.
- A videogame player must remember that.
- Even non-players should recognize the melody.
Every song here uploaded is made through a rendering based upon good old sheet music, complete with dynamics, text markings, articulations and embellishments for every instruments. Band arrangements are based upon piano transcriptions from the public domain or sometimes original, while the piano transcriptions are usually completely original (sometimes they are reductions of orchestral arrangements from the public domain).
As of now, I don't plan to share the aforementioned sheet music. If you are interested, you can contact me using the links provided at the bottom of the page.
Piano
As a pianist, all of the solo arrangements are aimed towards piano, and have to be played with both hands. I prioritize fidelity over playability, and I plan to arrange only pieces not already covered on other websites, like ninsheetmusic.
Concert band / Wind orchestra
However, most videogame music doesn't go along well with piano: there are many voices, instruments and sound effects that often make the piano arrangement route suboptimal. As such, I make concert band arrangements too. I'm not too fond of symphonic arrangements, so most of the arrangements will target a traditional wind orchestra (no strings, no piano, etc.).
Medley
Often the videogame pieces are particularly short, and therefore not long enough to be considered real pieces in a concert. Consequently, I found it wise to create medleys of these "problematic" songs as well. You can find these medleys in the corresponding section while the single songs are located in the other sections.
